Recent Makeup - Quick Reviews

Wow long time no see!

But in all seriousness, it's been a while since I've written anything on this blog and that's for various reasons. The past 6 months have been super busy for me with taking on new responsibilities, as well as one of the toughest school years in recent memories. (I'm a teacher for anyone new, and this year has been quite a challenge. Also, for context I teach elementary Spanish, and this is my fourth-year teaching.) But I'm glad to be back and I'm excited to share some of my thoughts on my recent makeup purchases.

I'm trying to curb my makeup purchases this year and not buy too much or overspend. My makeup collection already is quite large, and I enjoy my large makeup collection, but I don't want to spend too much on makeup this year or purchase things I don't need. With that in mind, I've been very selective about my makeup purchases so far this year and have only been purchasing items I think will add something to my collection.

So today I'm going to share some of my favorite products so far this year! Let's do it!

First up - Colourpop x Avatar the Last Airbender

How excited was I when it was announced that Colourpop was collaboration with Avatar the Last Airbender? Very, very excited! I am a HUGE fan of Avatar the Last Airbender. I watched it as a young pre-teen and enjoyed it some much that the show has cemented itself as one of my favorite shows of all time! This collab is my dream collab!

So, how did Colourpop do with the collection? - It's pretty nice! I did really enjoy the packaging and the products quality wise are pretty solid. I'd definitely recommend the lip mask, palette, eyeliners, and lip stains from this collection. I did also purchase the highlighters but didn't love those as much. The main issue I had overall with this collaboration is the fact that some of my favorite characters weren't featured as much. Mainly Sokka and Azula, who did not get their own products and were barely featured in the packaging.

Pros: Cool packaging, solid quality products, affordable, nostalgic

Cons: Didn't include some of my favorite characters

Next - Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation SPF 25

This new foundation from Kosas has made quite the splash in the makeup community lately. I picked this up because I love the concealer from Kosas. It's one of my favorite concealers, so I had to pick this up to try the foundation!

But how does the foundation hold up?
In my opinion, it's pretty good. I've used it quite a few times and it's wore beautifully each time. If you enjoy a lightweight comfortable foundation that's not too dewy and not too matte, this is the foundation for you. Plus, it has some nice skin care benefits as well and SPF.

Let's go to the next product - Oden's Eye x Angelica Nyqvist: Hela Palette

This palette is a collaboration between Oden's Eye and Angelica Nyqvist, a very popular makeup youtuber. I really love Oden's Eye as a brand and their products are very good in my experience. I'm also a huge fan of Angelica, I've been following her channel for many years. So, I was excited to support this collaboration and I really enjoyed the palette color story.

In my opinion... this palette is awesome! Same great formula in this palette as all the other oden's eye palettes. The mattes are good, and the shimmers are my favorite! They are quite sparkly shimmers, so if you don't like super glittery shadows, this palette might not be for you. I for one LOVE shimmery, glittery shimmers, so I love this palette. I also like the color story. We have some pinks and greens which I enjoy a lot. Lastly, I think the packaging on this palette is absolutely gorgeous. It's a work of art! Two Thumbs UP!

Alright next up - LYS concealer: Triple Fix Brightening Concealer

Wow! Such a good concealer! I'm really enjoying this new LYS concealer. I think this is one of the best new concealers I've tried. The concealer is a very good formula and doesn't make the undereye look dry. I don't get bad creasing with this one either! Plus, this one is very affordable at only $18!

Well, thanks for sticking to the end! These are some of my favorite products so far this year :) Hope you enjoyed and got some good recommendations! If you want more in-depth reviews and to see these products in action, check out my YouTube channel to see me using these products! Click here

Thanks, and adios!

Book! - Let's talk about books and reading 2021

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since my last blog post.... But here I am again!  So today I'm going to be listing off some good and not so good books I've been reading so far into 2021. If you're interested, just keep on reading  Some books I've read so far this year worth missing: Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire    *** - 3 stars out of 5 The most recent book I have finished, this book explores what happens to those students who find doorways to other worlds, and what really happens when they come back to the "real" world. A very interesting concept, I enjoyed most of the characters and the writing, but felt the story to be a bit incomplete, but still think it's worth checking out, which is why it gets a 3 out of 5 rating.  The Maze Runner series - The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trails, and The Death Cure by James Dashner **** 4 stars out of 5 I'm glad I read this series this year. I finished all three books in February and I really enjoyed t

Review of Colourpop Garden Variety Palette

Many makeup brands have been going crazy with so many new makeup release and today I'm giving my quick opinion on the newish Colourpop Garden Variety palette. Since this palette released a few weeks ago, Colourpop has already released two other collections, so I'm a little behind, but I wanted to share my opinion on the Garden Variety palette since I actually bought this palette myself and wanted to review it. So let's get into my opinion and quick review: First some.... Basic Information: Price - $20 Pans - 15 eyeshadows Formulas - mattes, metallics, and Colourpop's super shock formula Net Weight - 17g (.6 oz) Shades: neutrals, oranges, corals, golds, purples, greens, and browns My Opinion: Quality - The quality is the usual quality for Colourpop. Colourpop is one of my favorite brands and has a very good formula. On top of being affordable, they also have a very good formula. This palette is no exception, it has a good formula and I had no issues blending the shadows.
